Our Story
In 1985, Bill and Iva Oates, along with their fellow community members, embarked on an inspiring journey to fulfill their dream of establishing a local museum. This dream marked the humble beginnings of the Ross Museum.
The Ross Museum opened its doors in 1995 and is staffed entirely by passionate volunteers who are dedicated to preserving and promoting local history.
The establishment of the Ross Museum was made possible by the generous donation of land from Roy and Bette Ann Dittburner. The “Ross House”, a replica of an early 1800’s log home was gifted by Jack and Janice McLaren.
Today, we take immense pride in our expansion to five buildings, each housing a unique part of our captivating collection. Join us as we skillfully weave together the rich tapestry of the past!
